Volunteer Now!
Special Olympics of Stanislaus County was started and exists today because of the time and energy of volunteers. We have a small group of volunteers that provide year-round sports programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities in Stanislaus County. We are always looking for new coaches and helpers who are willing to give their time to work with our athletes.
Who Can Volunteer?
ANYONE. Special Olympics volunteer include parents, teachers, students, business groups, civic organizations, and families. Experience is not required; however, you must be at least 10 years old. Volunteers ages 10-13 can only participate under the supervision of a parent or group leader. Students wishing to participate for community service credit are encouraged to choose our program.
Coaches Needed
We always need coaches that have expertise in a particular sport. We offer our athletes training in swimming, softball, soccer, basketball, track and field and bocce. If you choose to become a coach you will be responsible for training athletes for a six-week training cycle.
How Do I Get Involved?
To be a day of the event volunteer simply fill out the volunteer form and we will inform you through email the opportunities available. If you would like to become a Special Olympics coach and work with our athletes on a regular basis, you must submit a background report. We encourage you to get involved with our terrific athletes.
